Thankful for Foster Care?

It always amazes me to hear a young adult exiting foster care express gratitude for being in "the system." Jessica does that in this brief but encouraging story about her time in care.
How is it that pain and struggle can be transformed into purpose and strength? I am privileged any time I see that play out in the life of a young person exiting care.
